Journal for Strategic Studies, Issue 12
    The new issue of the Journal of Strategic Studies comprises several studies, analyses and book reviews. The English Part of the Journal commences with a Studies and Research section which includes a paper by

    This is followed by a Political Analysis section comprising:

    'Gandhi in Retrospect' by Dr. Mohammed Noman Galal.

    'Shaping Future: A Clash of Perceptions' by Dr. Mohammed Noman Galal

    'Alexandria; The Third Round of Euro-Arab Dialogue' by Mr. Abdulnabi Alekry.In the book review section there is a review by Heather Anderson of

    'Making Globalization Work' by Joseph Stiglitz and a section on Studies which includes a number of executive summaries which can be read in full in the Arabic section:

    'New Risks and the Future of International Peace and Security' by Professor Idrees Lakrini.

    'The Impact of the Free Trade Agreement between Bahrain and the United States of America', by Professor Hisham Abdulbagi.

    'The Energy Resources of the Caspian Sea and the Gulf Region' by Ms. Arwa Yassin.  There is then a final reference document – 'The United Nations Security Council, Resolution 1803 (2008)', concerning nuclear proliferation and agreements made between Iran and the IAEA.
              The Arabic Part of the Journal comprises papers on:

              'The role of the military industrial complex in US foreign policy' by Mr Radhi AlSamak.The section on book reviews includes:

              'The Architect of the Economic Miracle: H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Soloman' by Ebrahim Hamid Mubaydeen, reviewed by Dr. Noman Galal.
              'The intersection between violence and terrorism in the age of globalization' by Professor Ali Layla, reviewed by Dr Ahmed Al Korei

              'Democracy and Cultural Dialogue' by Professor ElSayed Yasseen, reviewed by Ms Maysa Althawadi

              The document section of the journal includes the final statements of the Arab Summit, March 2008, a review of international incentives by the superpowers to Iran, recommendations to establish an award and a King Abdulla Centre for Civilized Dialogue. The strategic journal is a quarterly, refereed journal published by BCSR with the objective to enrich scientific research through publication of in-depth studies, research and analytical essays.

              The journal is concerned with political, economic, social, educational and scientific issues. It is also interested in the dialogue of religions and civilizations with strategic dimensions. The editorial board includes Dr Mohammed Alghatam, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the BCSR, Dr. Abdulla Al-Sadiq, Secretary General of the BCSR as Deputy Editor-in-Chief and Dr Noman Galal, Strategic Studies Advisor as Editor.
