With the objective of monitoring and analyzing economic events in the Kingdom of Bahrain, BCSR has released the first issue of the Bahrain Economic Report
April 2008

The BCSR has published the first issue of the Bahrain Economic Report for 2008, stated Dr. Mohammed J. K. Alghatam, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the BCSR.  The objective of this periodic report is to monitor and analyze major economic events in Bahrain, so as to reflect the performance of the economy in the Kingdom and to diagnose major trends and features of the Bahraini economy.

The report includes analytical discussion of some economic issues raised by public opinion, in addition to the economic agreements concluded by the Kingdom of Bahrain with other countries.  The report includes a special appendix of all the economic legislation issued in 2007.

The report also deals with issues such as inflation, the population, the workforce, unemployment, the government's budget, public debt, foreign investment, and the administrative environment.
 
The report was prepared by Dr. Sharifa Al Hajeri, Mr. Mohamed Al Hajeri and Mr. Abdul Jalil Al Noaimi from the Economic Studies Department at BCSR.
