Within the framework of cooperation between BCSR and the University of Bahrain, a training course organized by BCSR on Management and Leadership in the 21st Century will be held from 10-14 February 2008

The BCSR training programme is holding a contractual course for the University of Bahrain on Management and Leadership in the 21st Century, from 10-14 February 2008, and presented by Dr. Mohamed Noman Galal, Advisor for Strategic International Studies and Supervisor of the Dialogue of Civilizations Programme at BCSR. This programme falls within the framework of cooperation on training programmes between BCSR and the University of Bahrain.

Dr. Abdulla Al-Sadiq, Secretary-General of BCSR, stated that the objective of the course is to present the major concepts and principles that prevailed in the management system during the 20th Century and to present the new developments witnessed this century.  The training course will also cover and clarify the differences and the special principles in management, leadership, and decision making in various organizations.

Dr. Al-Sadiq added that management and leadership in the 21st Century represent the major pillars of development needed in order to achieve objectives and to meet the needs of contemporary requirements. This is what distinguishes advanced countries from other nations in terms of their political, administrative and socio-economic frameworks.  Dr. Al-Sadiq further stated that this course presents training material to enhance understanding of the philosophy of management and leadership skills in the 21st Century.

The course methodology is based on theoretical concepts and practical guidelines, together with interaction between the participants and the lecturer. Dr. Galal is highly qualified in this field, with 40 years of experience in management and leadership through various prominent positions and responsibilities, in addition to his studies and writings.  The main topics of the course will be the similarities and differences between management and leadership, the traditional understanding of management, the management of change, strategic theories of management, and the levels of leadership in management and decision making, innovative marketing strategies, and negotiating skills etc.
