The programme of training courses at the BCSR organized a training course on Marketing Research and its Application in Decision Making. The course was led by Mr. Jamal Jameel Saadedine, Director of Statistical Data Processing at the Department of Research and Public Opinion in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The course, which ran for three days, was designed to upgrade the skills of the participants through practical application, so that the participants could become acquainted with the different methods of research and scientific thinking in the field of marketing research. The course also enabled the participants to analyse market dimensions, changes in supply and demand, as well as to prepare marketing research in the office and in the field.
In addition, the course covered the design of survey forms, the preparation of questions and the undertaking of statistical analysis. The course targeted professionals working in the field of marketing research in survey centres, those working in the field of product promotion, and in marketing and consumer satisfaction measurement.
Dr. Abdulla Al-Sadiq, Secretary-General of the BCSR, officially opened the course and in his opening address he said that marketing surveys were gaining great importance in strategic and economic decision making. This helps decision makers to take decisions based on a scientific and methodological basis, which minimizes the possibility of failure and mistakes, while increasing the possibility of success. Dr. Al-Sadiq added, that marketing research is an effective method used by successful institutions to become better acquainted with the market and with the characteristics of consumer behaviour and the modes of purchase and distribution, so that the companies can adopt production and marketing plans in accordance with market needs and consumer tendencies.
