Bahrain Center for Studies and Research

Objectives

BCSR aims to:

Maximize the importance of applied scientific research as a means of supporting decision-making in the various spheres.
Create a cadre of Bahraini researchers in the areas of national priorities.
Measure and analyze economic and social developments and public opinion pertinent to national issues.
Adopt a proactive stance with regard to the major issues facing the Bahraini community and put these issues forward for discussion, analysis and the proposal of appropriate solutions.

Means of Achieving Objectives

BCSR sets out to achieve its objectives via the following means:

Conducting applied studies and research, especially funded and contractual studies and research.
Conducting opinion surveys on political, economic, social and national issues of special relevance to decision-makers and policy planners in the public and private sectors.
Developing economic indicators for economic development in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and by providing appropriate information for economic decision-making.
Organizing specialized conferences and seminars covering areas of concern to seek recommendations, which will contribute to the achievement of economic, social and human development in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Designing and running specialized training courses for the benefit of the public and the private sectors, especially in areas related to BCSR's distinctive expertise.
Funding research projects directly connected with those carried out by BCSR.
Publishing studies and publicizing activities in the media as appropriate.
Cooperating with Gulf, Arab and international research centres in matters pertaining to BCSR's objectives and the national interests of the Kingdom.
