Bahrain Center for Studies and Research

BCSR is a member of the Bahrain National Committee on Education, Science and Culture (BNCESC), which comprises various members interested in education, science and culture in Bahrain. BNCESC represents the link between the Kingdom's various agencies, the United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO), The Arab League Education, Science and Culture Organization,(ALESCO), the Arab Education Bureau of the Gulf States, and the Islamic Education, Science and Culture Organization,(ISESCO).

BCSR is a member of the GCC General Secretariat's Scientific and Technical Cooperation Committee, which aims to: advance scientific and technical progress in the areas of industry, mining, agriculture and marine and animal resources; establish scientific research centres; create a local resource base through the support and promotion of research in applied and technical sciences; adapt imported technologies to the region's requirements and objectives for progress and development; develop systems and conditions for technology transfer and standardized agreements to achieve this with ministries of higher education, government, or academic or foreign commercial institutions; co-ordinate scientific and technical research policies and programs; and establish joint centres and programmes in scientific and technical fields.

BCSR is a member of the Committee of the Vice Presidents of Universities, Higher Education and Academic Research Institutes, a sub-committee of the Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministers Committee of the GCC General Secretariat. This committee is entrusted with overseeing the preparations for the meetings of the higher education and scientific research ministers, with regard to the affairs of universities, higher education, scientific research and external scholarships programs.

BCSR regularly participates in the meetings of the Standing Committee on Fisheries Resources, a sub-committee of the Agricultural and Water Co-operation Committee of the GCC General Secretariat, whose main tasks include reviewing the status of fisheries resources in the GCC countries, conducting research and projects, and developing the laws and decisions required to manage the Gulf's fisheries and which deal with marine pollution and the quality of fisheries resources in the Gulf Countries.
